SKIN CARE | The only steps you will ever need

Clara Cardoso

Hi guys! It has been a while, hasn’t it?

Today’s issue might be the most usual and seen thing on your social media. How many times have we heard those brands advertisements making promises and assumptions about our skin or even selling treatments that we have no idea about?

I know. We've all been there, right?

So after some time on the internet, I have realized that if not every day, then every week, I receive a different advertisement about someone showing a new skincare product... I won't lie; it is kind of annoying because it seems that after so many options offering so many different things, I get more lost than I was before. Does it make sense?

I mean, I am only sixteen, and somehow it seems that for the skincare industry, I already need a big and diverse routine to keep my face totally clean and young, which is annoying and sick, if I could say so. I love taking care of myself by having those moments after taking a shower or before going out, but that mass propaganda about skincare seems to be changing the purpose it should have, you know?

Instead of helping girls and women, it became a way of trying to make women more insecure. I have stopped counting the times that my friends, or even my mom, for example, come to me and say how not pretty they are feeling, how they wish they were that girl from their feed, or how insecure they feel.  Anyway, after thinking about it, I've decided to share the only three steps I have in order to take care of my skin—not only my face but my body as well.

Reminder: It took me a while to find the ones that work for my skin, but after some research and dermatologist appointments, I found a super practical pattern that works regardless of brand or product, but the routine and frequency we follow.

1. Facial Cleanser

For starters, cleaning. Of course that the brand you will choose will depend on the type of skin your have but I have decided to present the one I use and a little bity of the brand as well

HYDRATING CLEANSER - CERA VE

No matter what type of skin you have, Cera Ve literally has something to offer you. So, my skin has always ranged from dry to normal, and I haven't adapted to cleansers until this one. I have the hydrating cleanser as well as the blemish control cleanser, but what I love about this brand, besides the cost benefit because it lasts for a while, is that my skin stays soft for a very long time, and I haven't had as many pimples as I used to. I definitely recommend it.

2.  Moisturizer

We, people with olied skins or dry skins, usually have the not needing to moisturize the skin sensation. But we are all wrong. LOL.

FACE:

AQUA BOMB- BELIF

I actually discovered this product after a dermatologist appointment. I claimed that I didn't like to have that heavy skin feeling and the dermatologist recommended this one above. Fortunatly, it was on sale and it really worked. Nice composition, nice skin. I have tried others ever since, but this one still is my favorite.

BODY:
Just like on your face, you should find a mild moisturizer to use whenever your skin feels dry, especially in winter, but not just winter. I usually use one from the market made from aleo vera and it is literally a lifesaver.

3. Sunblock

To conclude, my long term date, the sunblock. It does not really matter the brand but make sure that you and your skin are safe. I have been use it for almost 4 years!

Remember that the products that worked for me might not be the same for you and keep in mind that taking care of ourselves should not be just a girl thing. TBH, it's past time for society to catch on. Cleaning is not just feminine and can be practical. Of course it won't stop us to be exposed to all the contents I have mentioned before, or even for watching Vogue Beauty posts, but I thought that by searching my real skincare rountine it would help you guys somehow.

Your way of sleeping may be your best skill

Clara Cardoso

Hi guys! It has been a while, hasn’t it?

I am excited to finally share my thoughts, pop culture, points of you and other teas with you but in English.  Welcome to the Fashion Tea And Other Teas!

Today’s issue is pretty unusual. Do you know that professional sleeper is an actual possible career? Maybe you have never been lazy, you just never knew how to use your skiils. lol

Well, the job consists in being paid to sleep in order to support research investigations. A professional sleeper works with a variety of clients, such as hotels, scientists and medical professionals. When they're working, these professionals have to sleep in specific conditions and provide their feedback about the experience.

It seems strange but the estimated yearly salary is 58,627 $. Since the last few decades, it has increased quite a lot as a new demand in society. Sounds like a good professional option?

This job requires the ability to sleep, since It's essential for you to be able to sleep in different circumstances, such as away from home or with people watching, communication skills because you rather have a good verbal and written communication skills so you can share your feedback with the researchers that you're assisting. And finally, flexibility: it's beneficial for you to have a flexible schedule to adapt to the different needs of a particular job.

Although it sounds as a pretty easy way to make money, some professional sleepers claim about spending a long time indoors away from their social life, feeling out of touch with the outside world and not feeling well paid enough for such specific career.

In my opinion, it seems quite absurd to be paid that much for this  but considering other types of jobs that exists, it does not seem so bad or overwhelming.

Anyways, I thought it could be interesting to bring this odd job here as a random and unusual fact that probably will not edify your life but it is still funny though. Imagine you in high school picking such a job and telling everyone about it.

XOXO,

Clara Cardoso
